─── Odolwa Trial ───

The rotating platforms only move when they are on screen, so the camera can be used to manipulate their cycles.

Odolwa Trial long jump to HP

This saves 3-4 seconds over getting to the HP normally as Deku because of platform cycles.

  1. Hold up from the load to turn
  2. Sidehop left
  3. Pull a bombchu when Link lands and continue sidewalking left
  4. Once Link passes the center of the flower, release target (this activates the far platforms)
  5. Stand in the corner as shown with roughly the angle shown and long jump to the first platform
  6. When the platforms line up, jump and jumpslash to the yellow flower platform (if they don't line up, you activated the far platforms too early or late before the long jump)
  7. Use the yellow flower to fly to the HP

Odolwa Trial hover from HP

10 distance hovers can span the gap. The landings are closest together near the wall, so either start hovering near the wall or bend the hovers towards the wall as demonstrated in the video below.

─── Goht Trial ───

Standard path

For a quick start, target the wall between the pots, then curl and hold down while continuing to target to begin rolling directly away from the wall. Release target before getting spikes. Because Goron Link will continue moving in a straight line if the control stick is left neutral once he has spikes and the chests are at 45 degree angles to the path, you can now release the control stick until after bouncing off the chests. The standard path to the end of the track is to cross two bridges; be careful not to fall or to touch the retry portals.

Optimized path

It is possible to skip targeting the wall at the beginning and just eyeball Link's angle to be roughly parallel to the path. This may require some steering between chests if the angle isn't quite right, as shown in the video. It is also possible to skip the bridges at the end with a somewhat precise diagonal jump off of a ramp.

Goht Trial Blast Mask long jump

This long jump is a shortcut to the heart piece that saves about 6s over following the course as intended. Backflip onto the chest and stand near the edge closest to the upper path. Orient the camera so that Link will be facing the upper path after transforming. Put on the Blast Mask and press B to explode, then use the Zora Mask on one of the first two frames after the B press. Hold towards the upper platform to long jump to it.

It is not recommended to slash to the edge of the chest collision to prepare Link's position for the long jump because the window to use the Zora Mask after exploding is only one frame (2f after the B press) when Link has the sword in his hand.

Goht Trial ramp jump from HP

It is about 2.5s faster to use this somewhat precise diagonal ramp jump than to take the bridges.

─── Gyorg Trial ───

The path to the Gyorg child is LRLR (or RLLR). The path to the Heart Piece is LRLL (or LLRL).

Swim from Gyorg Trial HP to child

It's possible to swim against the current by swimming in the left corner of the tunnel.

─── Twinmold Trial ───

Playing a top-row song (other than time songs) in front of a gossip stone releases a big fairy, and in Twinmold Trial, gossip stones releasing fairies and the puzzles being completed share flags. Releasing a fairy at the gossip stone after Garo Master puts the ladder behind the Iron Knuckle, skipping the bombchu + eye switch puzzle. Releasing a fairy at the left gossip stone behind the Iron Knuckle opens the door behind the Heart Piece, skipping the bombchu + frozen eye switch puzzle.

Garo Master with GFS jumpslashes

There is a 4-frame window to jumpslash with GFS and avoid taking damage from the Garo Master; the first 2 of these frames don't damage the Garo Master either but can be followed up with a second jumpslash to damage it, and the second 2 frames do damage the Garo Master. The video shows the last of the 4 frames. If Link hasn't moved since opening the door, this 4-frame window begins just after the Garo Master jumps. JP can use jumpslash pcs to achieve the same effect.

Garo Master as Goron

Stay at the door, then begin a pound when the Garo Master jumps for the first time. Shield after the pound lands to avoid getting hit. From there, keep close to the Garo Master and begin a pound after it does its first small hop, then shield after the pound. Continue until the end of the fight. If any pounds miss and the Garo Master is standing and looking around, punch it.

Iron Knuckle with GFS jumpslashes

This strategy works on Eng and JP, but it is only recommended for Eng because JP can use jumpslash pcs to achieve the same effect.

  1. Approach the IK and stab to begin the fight
  2. Jumpslash immediately and cancel the jumpslash animation
  3. If the iron knuckle does its vertical attack (first case in video), sidehop before continuing with the next steps; if it does its horizontal attack (second case in the video), continue without sidehopping
  4. Jumpslash once more with an animation cancel
  5. Spin attack to end the phase
  6. After the cutscene, crouch stab
  7. Hesitate briefly, then sidehop and jumpslash to finish the fight

Iron Knuckle as Goron

safe strat

Begin the fight with a pound, then time pound + punch combos to avoid its attacks until phase 2. From here, time five pounds to avoid the attacks.

Iron Knuckle ladder skip

Get ISG opening the chest, then hover from the chest to the upper platform with 5 chus.
